SoRiku - Faithful part 1

It's been so long since we've done something like this; sitting on the paopu tree watching the sunset. Kairi fiddles with one of the decorative zippers on her short, pink dress, watching the orange sunlight glimmer off of it. Sora sits next to her, just looking onto the horizon with a smile on his face. Just simply enjoying the moment. Me - I stand, leaning against the tree, hands in the pockets of my jeans. A warm, tropical breeze blows gently through my long silver hair. I close my eyes. I hear the waves beating against the shoreline, and wind rustling the trees. I feel... free. Then Kairi's voice breaks my train of thought. "Well, I better head home," she slides of the tree, looks at Sora, smiling "bye Sora," looks at me, "see ya, Riku!" She then turns towards the dock, and walks down it. Walks across the sandy beach of our island, and toward her boat. Kairi gets in and rows toward the direction of the main island, and dissapears from sight.

I was hoping for this - me and Sora to be alone. I lift myself onto the tree, and scoot over to him. "Hey, Sora," I say. Sora looks at me, making direct eye contact. Bright blue eyes to aqua-green eyes. I always did love his eyes... "Hey Riku," Sora replies, smiling. Such a  cute smile. I scoot closer, wrap my arms around him, and pull him a little more closer to me. I rub his arm affectionately. He chuckles, and rests his head on my shoulder. His soft spikes brush my face. We sit like this for a while, in silence, just enjoying each others company.

The sun sinks below the horizon, the sky turns a light purpley blue. A few stars twinkle in the eastern sky. "Hey," I whisper to him, "it's getting late. We should head back." Sora stretches, and yawns. "Yeah," he sleepily replies. I slide off the tree, but Sora stands up and jumps off. Hmph, what a show-off. I make a gesture towards the dock, and turn to leave. "Hey, uh, Riku?" I hear Sora say, stuttering a little. I turn back around to face him. "Yeah, Sora? What's up?" But he's in front of me, and he wraps his arms around me, and hugs me. Tightly, burying his face into my chest. "I... I missed you," he squeezes me, "a lot..." he trembles a little. "Hey, don't," I say softly, trying to comfort him. I wrap my arms around him, and rub my fingers through his spikey hair. "It's okay, I missed you a lot too." I affectionately kiss his forehead.

He looks up at me, and I smile down at him. "I mean it, I missed you a lot too." I move my arms down to his waist. Sora jumps upm and wraps his arms around my neck and shoulders. I'm kinda glad Kairi left earlier. She wouldn't be able to stop giggling if she saw us like this. "Riku," Sora whispers softly into my ear, "I stayed faithful to you."
